I was coming back from catterick and the eml came on started making a funny noise when trying to accelerate as if just didn't want to move so I pulled over put clutch in and the car died, the recovery guy said it was head gasket as there's no compression

Could it of cooked the engine as it was very hot the oil was smoking out the oil cap? Could it have been water pump problems??

The water was gone when I looked after it had been using water but not as much did checks no

Well if it's been losing water I'd say it's got to the point of not being able to hold any and ended up frying

My head gasket went on my 1.6 had head done new gaskets fitted it all back together to find that the pistons had gone aswell so serched ebay for another 1.6 found 1 for £180 im just in the process of cleaning and painting it whilst its out

Get another engine mate saves a lot of hastle
