OP... Ice Skating at Somerset House, Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is open until 3rd Jan, otherwise there's nothing out of the ordinary to do. Plenty of threads in what to do, do a search on here for Kerry's recent post

London can be awesome if you go to the right places and do the right things, but it can be pretty terrible if you don't.

Well my 20+ trips down there this year have brought me to the conclusion that I'd never go down there for a weekend away. I've never really seen the attraction of cities though.
