Not expecting an answer really, but hey ho...

Anyone know what the bar on a smith machine weighs? Kinda hoping it weighs 20kg.. Thanks for any input

depends what smith machine it is? the one in our gym is massive but is assisted so the only weight on it is the plates you put on

No idea on what machine matt. I've been told it weighs 27.5kg, 25kg & 20kg see....

it weighs next to fuck all, the ones at my gym you can throw it up in the air with your little finger, try doing that to an olympic 20kg bar.

you could probably count 10kg at the most if you are trying to push for numbers

Smith machine at the gym i attend is light and thin. The normal bench press one which i find much better has a big thick bar that weighs 20kg.

It does feel about 20kg when I'm lifting just the bar. But I'll ask one of the staff at the gym

Jake - I was going for numbers tonight as I finally benched 100kg. Assuming the bar is 20kg

Depends on the machine, one gym I go it weighs 27kg, another gym I go it weighs 15kg.

That said, I haven't been to neither in about 4 months...
