While there are half price offers on I'm thinking of getting a new electric shaver. Seen ads for that new Braun foil one which looks good and is going for £50, anyone else have any recommendations? I've currently got a Philips one but thought a foil one might be better as the Philips is quite harsh if the hairs are a bit too long.

Got a Braun self cleaning thingy; was about £100 and haven't had any problems in the 4 years of having it.

Mine lasted 2 weeks before my brother used it and ran it under the tap!

Just got a new one, as I have never had one working properly I am hoping your experience isn't going to happen to my new one!

Agreed, ends up ripping the hair out, and they can uncoil and cut.

I got the brain series 3 with the cleaning station like what Gavin has. I only got it yesterday but I really like it. Easy to use and it cleans itself.

I totally prefer the foil over the round head one now, only small downside is it is noisier, but that just adds manliness, surely
