Seen an idea of using a bicycle tyre tube and clamping it over the rad filler then pumping it up with a tyre pump
Also don't have a clue about the tyre size meanings...
Seems to work, £2.50 instead of £100odd for a real one.

if the pump can make a high enough pressure it will work, i would expect the pump to break though

Why would it break? A foot pump can do about 100psi.

there's was a bmx bike company called Flybikes and they made a tube that isn't circular...

no need to take a wheel off to change a inner tube... its was just a snake if you get what im on about, each end overlapped slightly inside the tyre and when you pumped it up it filled it fine

mite make it easier to make one with one of them maybe..?

you wont get anywhere near 100psi in just an inner tube on its own, it will just keep inflating until it bursts, probably would barely be 10psi imo

the only reason you can get it high when the tyre is on is because the tyre is taking the pressure rather then the inner tube, the inner tube just stops the air escaping

good point, never gave that bit a thought

what about motor bike innertubes...? thicker stuff aint it?

or them thorn-proof bicycle ones. rubbers dead thick on them

sticking an inner tube in a rad aint gonna get the same results any way

he wants to pressure test the rad, so needs to fill the rad with air!

maybe a tractor innertube? or get a spare rad cap, drill a hole in it the size of a bike innertube valve and push it through from the inside then seal it up?

Use two 6inch pieces or shorter to keep length down and double them up, could make some sort of sleeve which would help

A shock pump would make more sense... Higher pressure potential and generally more accurate, plus it will fit in your tool box.

Tbh a normal pressurised cooling system is only about 20psi so the shittest pump will do.
