I started breaking my car before christmas as its worth more in bits.
Totally forgot about my plate still being on it, an its worth quite abit. Theres no tax or mot on it anymore according to the dvla it's not possible to get the plate off without either of these, is that true?
It will be a massive ball ache to get the car through an mot now ive sold most bits.
Thanks

You can take the plate off aslong as the tax ran out within 6 months ago and was sorn straight away. I've had this problem before.

Just checked the dvla site...
To retain the registration number, the vehicle must be:
registered at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA)
available for inspection
of a type that needs an MOT or heavy goods vehicle (HGV) test certificate
currently taxed
However, if the vehicle is not taxed, you can still apply to retain provided:
there is no break between the date the tax disc runs out and the start of the SORN
and the tax disc run out no more than 12 months before the date you apply

It says that it has to be a vehicle that needs an mot.
I did it a few years ago on a corsa that had been off the road for ages, and iv also got a car now with a private reg on that is off the road and may not be coming back.
If your tax ran out in november and you sorned it straight away you will be fine
