Nope. CBT is just for 125cc bikes.
If you're 21, after you've done your CBT (and another theory test even if you've passed the car one) you can do your direct access bike test so that you can ride any size bike. Consists of 2 modules; an off road maneuver test and a normal road ride.

Get your direct access done, then you will be restricted for 2 years which will enable you to ride upto 33bhp. They are changing the rules yet again very soon so get in and get it done ASAP!

DA will not be limited
take the test on a 125 and you're limited for 2 years

Pay the extra and do your DAS then, you can then ride anything you want.

cbt lasts for 2 years, so might aswell get your DAS before your cbt expires too

a comon way of doing it is to get a 125, do your cbt, ride it for a few months to learn what you're doing then take your DAS

Yes
CBT means you can ONLY ride bike up to 125cc and no more than 13bhp...you have to pass this first.
Then take lessons on a 600cc bike cost me a whole £10 more a lesson (2hours) instead of learning on a 125cc...don't buy a 125cc and ride about then take your 600cc test as you will pick up bad habits and fail your test.
Do your "big bike" mod1 off road test and pass then do your mod2 bike bike test once you pass that you can ride absolutely anything.

I have no bad habits from riding a 125. I can ride like an angel if needed.

Thanks! They offer 3 hour lessons for £80 so a couple of them should get me up to speed.
