Well, really using c20xe + f20, it's still rear mounted,
Not a true mid mounted set up,
Can't see a problem with rotating the axle, not really clued up on the imp setup, but usually they are made to give certain characteristics when compressing, and they would be reversed.

it seems pretty simple the engine is turnt round in the car (faces different to normal engines you would see like corsas) so the gearbox is on the other side which means it could be classed as running backwards?

You could run it in the same orientation, inlet rearmost as it is in FWD but then the shafts are on the back which means the engine must sit further forward, which means it'll need to intrude in to where the rear seats where. He's looking for a solution which will roughly fit in the original engine aperture.

I know of someone that adapted a honda b series gearbox to a 1.4 8v engine so he could have his shafts infront of the engine as he was running it in the back of the car and he wanted the weight behind the rear wheels

Any news on how the box is doing Craig?

Few posts in here suggesting a Honda box with a Vauxhall crank configuration wouldn't last long.

it wont handle like a porsche as said before porsche have spent millions getting it to handle right, and some of the early examples were interesting handling to say the least

laws of inertia, you are multiplying it the further you put the weight to the back of the car

i spoke to my mate this morning, he could'nt remember which clutch plate he used (as he used one lying around in his garage). he had no pictures of the engine/gearbox together, i will go and take some this weekend.

if im thinking right you just need a clutch plate which has the honda spline and overall diameter of the original clutch off the engine you are using,

have found a link of clutch splines if it helps.

http://www.powertraintech.com/Files/Clutch%20Spline%20Sizes.html

i will try and get more info,

which engine are you planning on using?

i have been looking into it and it would all depend on what gearbox you get because different B series gearboxes have different input shaft sizes and splines,

looking on the helix clutch website one out a model of crx has a 25.4mm x 24t spline and another has 25.9mm x 24t and a D series gearbox has 22mm x 20t

what is the OD of a x16xe friction plate?
