the contracts at work (asda) are changing on my department. i no longer work Saturday abnormal times in the morning. picking up them hours during the week
im chuffed as iv done every saturday and sunday morning for two years now and i could never get a holiday on them because nobody would cover them shifts.
personally i dont mind the sunday cos the stores shut most of the shift
thought id share

my missus is only contracted to a saturday.. they pretty much make her do shit loads of overtime.. contract means nothing at asda

i only work until lunchtime on a saturday but i seriously hate having to work saturdays at all.

When I was in the chip shop, I worked Thu, Fri, Sat Sun, 12 and 13 hour days.
Glad when i finished, but they have not had anyone since who will work those shifts every week.
I generally do not work weekends at all now.

I only work weekends cash in hand for no less than £160 per day.
No point otherwise.

ive just had a sickener at work (asda) total oppisite to yours lol...... manager came up to me last night and told me that my department doesnt need anyone working it at night as deliveries dont come in untill 2am so he then offerd me 2am-10am wich is useless to me or move back on to grocery but have to work saturdays i have worked there nearly ten years every weekend working and since moving onto produce i have had weekends off

guttered for you. whats night shift rate? im on produce officially although i tend to do a lot of warehouse work.
we dont have a nightshift on produce at ours, the lad that got taken off that was guttered and our manager was still claiming for nightshift rate for him after he went onto days (resulting in her being sacked) it was ether that or the fact she was always pissed up at work ahahha
nothing at asda surprises me anymore

urm i think its something like £8.68 or £8.86 lol i forget, tbh asda is the slackest company i have worked for regarding working regulations its taken them 6 years to finally sack an alcho that just goes awol when he pleases
