i think the limiting factor with them is that they use the std ecu and afm?

Indeed, go for aftermarket ecu with them and they are alright, Linkage for the throttles a bad design too.

people are saying to not bother with them and save for better makes ect.. but i can get these for 1/3 of the price and theyve been re conditioned.. i just dont wanna take the chance for the idea to flop

They should give you a good gain, go for if you can get them cheap enough.

what sort of ecu should i be looking at? emerald?

and thats what im thinking corsadonk! but i dont want to buy them to find out there only producing 10bhp because i need to spend money on other bits :/

It should run on the GM ECU and air flow meter. Just run it as it comes.

If you have chance of them cheap then go for it, you can run them on standard management but can then upgrade to standalone management at a later date

id use jenvey throttle bodies and speak to sbd they can help wit everything u need

hi ,i would only buy these if you can get them cheap enough i am running qed direct to head ones and are fantastic even in this weather and dont run emerald might as use them ecu's as a paper waight same as the meggasquirt if your goin down the tb rout run ever jenveys or qed because they have the best flow rate out of all and ecu wise dta s40 pro or a omex i am sayin this because people seem to get better maps on them because they are easy to use and a friend had loads of probs on megga and emerald and efi euro 1 if you need any help u2u me mate

what utter bollox about the ecu's!
map's only as good as your mapper!

what ever your mapper maps most is easiest to use for them.
if it's not what the usually map it may just take a little bit longer.

also bollox on the jenveys/qeds having the best flow rates i'll think you find rollerbodies top it, even at power bodies out flow the equivalent jenveys.

i had a set on my x20xev, ran fine with not bad power through standard ecu, threw kms management got it mapped and changed the car completely as you would expect,
if there cheap enough get it put it on then start saving for standalone and mapping while enjoying the gains youll get with just having it on

thanks dava well its not on the road at the moment.. its just a project ive got going cant you tell me abit more about the ecu in a u2u? thanks
