I was behind a chavved up Clio, it had what looked like 15" alloys on standard suspension.
The passenger side rear wheel was like this |
Whereas the driver's side rear wheel was like \
Driver's side rear wheel also seemed to be vibrating a lot. What would cause the wheel to be like that and have so much play in it, dead wheel bearing maybe?

mk1 clio?? if so would be a dead rear axle bush, or trailing arm bush

I think so.
Just looked quite dangerous to be honest, some woman was driving it and I overtook when I got onto a dual carriageway section of road as I didn't want her rear wheel or other parts of her car flying up my bonnet

I've seen a 206 that was the same. How can some people not look at their cars and think that looks dodgy best park it up.

It's because they use torsion bars with individual trailing arms for each wheel with a fixed beam.
They use pin bearings that wear into the stub pins giving the arms a lot of movement

doubt its bushes wouldnt cause just one wheel to be off.
More likely wheel bearing, or its literally been hit and bent

Thing I don't understand is that I could see the wheel was vibrating quite a lot, surely that bird would have felt the car handling like a washing machine on spin cycle and think "oh shit, something's majorly wrong with my car"?
