Got a Buddyclub header coming this week for the S2000... few questions to those in the know.

When i remove the OEM header, should I replace the block gasket and the decat gasket while its off?

The OEM header has a heat shield, the buddy club one doesn't should i heat wrap it?

Also does anyone know what the springs do on the side

Maybe make sense to replace the gasket, old one might not come off in one piece. And last thing you want is to fit manifold and find out the old gasket you reused is leaking and youve to take it all off again.
Springs look like something to do with heat and the exhaust expanding?

i would fit new gaskets, not sure about heatwrapping on a n/a and whether its worthwhile, DEI heatwrap is quite expensive so might not be entirely worthwhile on it

I think the heatsheild is there because the manifold sits right next to some pipes, although im guessing they might be something to do with the A/C and seeing as my A/C is removed that might not matter?

they look like a decent set of headers, slip jointed etc, as said the springs are probably to compensate for heat expansion and eliminate cracking etc.

I've changed mine about 3 times

I ran all mine without heat shield:

You just have to be careful with clearance to steering column:

Just noticed thats not even a UK engine!

heres my engine and the current header is right by the brak lines, that sunch a good idea with heat? at the momment theres no heat sheild fitted, but the new one might get hotter than the oem?

standard now

I went from Standard -> Cheap jobbie. -> j's racing replica -> Standard
Reason I'm on standard now was because I was going to sell the car and set it back to standard.

From standard to cheap piece of crap, I noticed nothing - if anything I had a reduction in power.

From that p.o.s. to the j's racing replica I noticed a definite improvement at the top end of the rev range. This at the time was with a 70mm HKS racing exhaust, decat and j's racing ecu.

Now I just rock a completely standard exhaust system, with a mugen ECU as my only performance mod.
