i know it vauxhalls in general but i cant get this fucker to stop leaking. the cam cover or rocker cover whatever you call it... its had about 3 cheap gaskets from andrew paige's and it wont stop leaking... anyone know how much the ones from vauxhall are and if they actually seal it like they should?
at first i thought it was me being in a nasty habbit of over tightening but iv tried just say nipping them and its still the same

A genuine vauxhall one shouldn't cost much, and they always seal better than cheap pattern ones. Just makes sure the gasket face is nice and clean and dry.

Clean the face where the gasket sits on the head and clean the rocker cover before the gasket goes on.
I always use a little bit of sealer on the edges where the gasket goes over the cam caps etc as they're the common leak areas.
Also, when you tighten the bolts up. How are you doing it? start in the middle and work around in sequence as if youre doing head bolts. They dont need to be mega tight either, just nipped up.

If you hadn't of spent money on 3 cheap gaskets and the time fitting them, £36 would of been a bargain lol
