I've been a bit in the dark about this until now... but I've just found out that my work also do this cycle to work scheme thing.
I opted for a £450 voucher as I don’t want to go crazy… only going to use the bike for a bit of off-roading through summer (shhh! Don’t tell work

)
I’m torn between 2x bikes at the moment;

I think I’m currently swaying towards the Specialized… simply because they have it in-stock at my local Evans branch, meaning I can get properly measured and let them set it up etc..
I guess I’ll need the 17” version because I’m a short-arse, but would still prefer to be measured.
If I opt for the GT, I could always pop down to Evans just to “browse and show interest” & get measured before mail ordering.

Does anyone know anything about these 2x bikes, and know which would be the best to buy?

You pick an amount you wish to spend (at my workplace it's £200 - £1000 in £50 incriments), apply for the voucher and once approved, they send it to your home address.
You use the voucher to buy a bike, bearing in mind that you can't recieve change, but can spend on accessories. I've heard that you can't pay money towards the bike to make up the cost (prob due to the "hire" agreement).
You then repay the voucher by monthly deductions from your gross salary.
As it comes from your gross, you save money as you're not paying the tax on that amount.
At the end of the 12 months, I believe its up to your employer if they want to sell the bike to you for x amount... due to the tax workaround, it remains their property during and after the hire period... although they normally sell it to you for anything from £1 - £xx (where £xx = your monthly payment amount)

Basically, you get a voucher which you pay back to work directly from your gross wages (therefore saving you something like 40% as you aren't paying tax/NI on it). You can use the voucher in certain places (depends on the scheme) and it can be used for a bike and any accompanying accessories you want.

Do you have a any decent pictures you could send me that show the gear/brake levers / seat / pedals that come as standard?
Also, do you find that there's enough travel in the front forks? do they have any adjustment?

I'll upload some tommorow pal. The pedals are shite and its something I need to get round to ordering!
The forks have a few different load settings and lock out! There fine for me just thrasing round the woods and using the lock out on roads!
