I've got the old grey/white plastic xbox. Presumably i need the same coloured adaptor with the 1 aerial. Will the black one with 2 aerials not work? worth getting a genuine one or will a snidey one do?

black one should work. It's just the N version

black one works and is better than the white one apparently, i guess because it has 2 Ariels, i have one of the white adapters even though my xbox is 6 meters from my router it sometimes looses connection, so yer black one works and is better

As said, black one is better, but either will be compatible with either version xbox.

Quick look at prices and you'd probably be better off getting a Wireless-N Access Point, more than 1 use as well.
