Ok all the wires are attached apart from the brown/yellow diagnostics, all earths are on, charging loom connected but I do remember having to cut out the black/red wire from charging loom coz it looked melted?? I cut it back as far as I could then soldered a new wire in its place bypassing the charging loom plug...that's the only dodgy wire I had....the starter motor sparks when I short it out?? I never fitted the charging loom and starter it was already on and engine when I bought the car!! The engine defiantly runs as I have seen it before it got put in the car??

It goes all the way to ignition switch and is melted nearly all the way to the switch?? Shall I just put a new wire in and try, must b a switch wire to start the motor when you crank??

yes
from your other thread, there should be a thin red/black wire that goes from ign switch to the terminal on the starter
which would explain it not cracking or priming, pretty sure the XE primes on cranking

Got a new 1 2day, no different, it's as if there's no live going to the relay?? It's connected up to the loom as the guides say to do but I'm left with a thick red wire coming out of the fuel pump relay, should this b connected and have 12 v init??
