alot of the RWD guys weld there diffs, I presume this is to lock the wheels so they spin in the same direction at the same time(like an LSD would do?)
Could this be done and work like an LSD on say a c20xe corsa?

till you get to a bend and the outside wheel wants to go further than the inside wheel because it has a larger distance to cover

ive driven an mx5 with a welded diff, was fine to go in a straight line and get the back end out, try reversing and parking it though and the tyres skip

As mattk says, rwd will scrub tyres just can't see it working on a steering axle.

a fwd with a welded diff would be almost impossible to drive in anything other than a straight line or in mud.

From memeory there was a thread on migweb about it afew years ago and they had to take one of the driveshafts out to drive it anywhere.
