Hi all, quick query re PayPal. A guy has sent me 204 pounds for an eBay item, but PayPal will only let me take 196.87 due to some monthly limit. Can I get the remaining balance at a later date? Thanks

Logic would say you could get it next month.

Indeed, but sometimes the most simplistic logic seems too easy for it to be a reality. Will my PayPal account state that I can do that? Remaining balance says 0, you see.

Then you just paid fees on the 204 and that's all you can withdraw.

click on detail transactions or something like that and it shows you how much you got from the 204

Ah ok, thought the fees were paid monthly or something. Thanks

The fees come off per transaction.

I would guess that figure is just what you got minus the fees? Go to Details to see the fee.

Thanks. Seems odd as the two previous transactions gave me the full amount they sold for including p&p

Maybe those payments were as gifts?

No. I haven't used PayPal a lot so is that why I have a set limit as to how much I can transfer? I'd assume I can put the remaining amount in next month but can't see it in my account, I.e. that remaining 7 pounds

Nope, 196.87 is the amount you receive after fees on £204 (3,4% +20p)

Sometimes they come in with no fee. Can also be if the sender funded with a Paypal balance and not off a credit card.
