How much would it cost to have a headgasket done on corsa 1.4 16v to skim head is £47ish

skim is about £30 and a full gasket change is about 300-400

Do it yourself, it's piss easy.
The timing belt setup is also easy on these with loads of room.
Buy a haynes manual.

how do you know the engine off ebay is going to be any good
if you are handy with a spanner do it yourself

thats true just spent 400 on the reno but it failed mot on emissions o dear more dosh .
