tbh they handle better then most other hatches of the same age with exceptions of maybe the 106/saxo and the puma

There was never a "Fiesta Zetec S" with a 1.4 litre engine, full stop. Whatever the engine code was, this isn't the model descriptor. You were still in nappies when those cars were being built.
The fiesta zetec s is a model, not just the engine. The 1.4 had zetec s on the engine cover as has been said, doesnt make it a zetec s model but it is still a 1.4 zetec s engine, just like you would say an st has a 2.0 duratec

I'm not debating this; I'm stating that a "Fiesta 1.4 Zetec S" never existed; I'm not saying that there was never a "1.4 Zetec S badged engine", I'm not even saying there wasnt a "1.4 Zetec S badged engine" in a Fiesta but there was never a "Fiesta 1.4 Zetec S"

If you want a track one, there's a guy on ZSOC about to sell his as an MOT fail because of corrosion. £450 is too much.

As a track car - buy a Puma.
I'll do you a faster, lighter car for less than that.

Both 2000 were they not??
Never heard of a ZS being a better handling car than an RS Clio tbh.

I'm still selling the red one in my sig but if you're doing a track one I'd leave the MOT and VIC, that adds £100 to the price for no reason. That one only needs tax now and its on the road. If you're doing a track one that's a few hundred quid you didn't need to spend.
