some cheap mods:
-buy some German rear lights on ebay for £11.20
-get some pound store paint and do various plastics (hours of prepping but looks mint) £petty quids here -and there
-reasonable set of alloys that people dont normally go for but not crap ones
-lower it (dont go too far on standard dampers)
what you mean cheap...? there's not a lot cheap involved in modifying cars, there's not much even cheap about cars at all tbh hahaha

im a bargain hunter haha, they are the smoked germans that were advertised as 'corsa b rear euro lights' (auction) i bid 20 odd quid and won at 11.20... makes me laugh as there's some lexus ones up for over £20 atm haha
advice, have a look through some of the project threads for ideas and just have a good shop about see what you can find... some people go out there way to pay top dolla for good parts that they want there and then and some people wait/hunt for a bargain to arrive
i.e calibra front leathers £10 plus the £2.36 i found down there when when fitting them ahahahaha

...and if your insurance has told you 'you dont have to declare them' does this mean your still breaking laws?

No it means the parts are covered as standard parts, it doesnt invalidate your policy, i had my insurer explain this to me properly as i didnt believe them either
