Hi my oil level was a little low so i topped it up with some miltigrade 20/50w and now on the dip stick and oil cap theres a milky solution.Any ideas?Thanks

hows your coolant level? if thats looking a bit low its likely that your headgasket is on its way out.

Before i topped the oil up the there was no milky stuff i topped up the coolant then the oil now it milky still idles fine

might just be condensation. it can build up if you do a lot of short journeys.
if it wipes away and doesnt come back every time you dip it, it should be fine

although if your still getting it on the dipstick after you clean it off, its water contamination in the oil which would sudgest a blown head gasket

Could it because the oil i topped it up with has been opened for some time

Yep, could be.

I'd drop the oil and refill with proper 10W40 anyway, as it should be.

Try putting 10 40 oil in flush tht stuff out
