if you are putting your own handle on like a richbrook one or something i cut mine off with a hacksaw as it was easier and faster

i swapping from a richbrook one to a normal one but need to get normal one off the car first

You would struggle to get a normal one off in one piece to be honest you deffo wouldn't get it off without a lot of swearing lol. Have you tried auto vaux or similar part shop for a price on a standard handle? Shouldn't be that expensive and should save a lot of chew.
