went to manchester last night and was driving up a road thinking this road is nice and smooth and looks new. had a look at my car and one side is totaly covered in tar, there was no warning signs saying it was fresh, slow down etc, ive been and checked this morning.

whats best to remove this, theres a large amount, the pics dont show it all and will it damage my paintwork

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

its the entire length of the car.

ive got an email ready for the council with the pics and will put a receipt with for the stuff i buy to get this off, due to their negligance i will ask for them to reimburse me

I'd try white spirits and a rag, would try to soak it first, rather than wipe it about.

Even petrol should take it off

the picture really doesnt do it justice its all over one side of the car, il give it a go tomorow if its not raining. thanks.

il have a try with autoglym tar remover first. don't like the sound of using petrol or whitespirit.

Think iv said this before on here that I wouldnt be happy using an acidic wheel cleaner on paintwork. Never used wd40, auto gly. Tar remover works well and easier to apply if you put it in a spray bottle. Autosmart tardis is a popular choice aswell
