I have uprated my brakes to 2.0 litre from 1.4 sport ones and although the car stops the pedal seems to have alot more travel. I have now bled the brakes 3 times so there is no air in the system. All the brakes are free and working fine as they are shiny and get hot.
I was just wondering whether it is normal to have more pedal travel on the 2.0 lite ones or if there is a problem with mine?
Cheers.

are they v6 ones or 2.0 ones, the v6 ones have more travel due to a bigger piston in the caliper

Got the calipers on the right side? Bleed nipple needs to be at the top, common mistake to make.

Did you bleed fronts only?

No i bled both the front callipers and rear drums and replaced it with all new dot 4 flud, there was no more air coming out. Ive bled them three times now cuz i just couldnt beleive how different they felt. I thought they would stop quicker and give better feel but as far as i can tell they just increase pedal travel.

This happened to me when i fitted 2L brakes to my b. Bled all 4 corners, still real spongey and could push the pedal to the floor when stopped. Think its a feel thing that you just get used to in the end

As FAZ said, bigger caliper piston with tiny master cylinder means the pedal feels crap, but stamp on the pedal while driving and the 2 litre breaks do stop well!
