Hello, I've just finished my 87 nova redtop and I'm wanting to insure it as a redtop so was wondering which are good companies to go with, it also has a good spec to it and would like to insure my standard astra on the policy aswell,
Who are other people insuring there XEs with?
Also can I just insure it and still have it registerd as a 1.2?

I appreciate the replies, joe

Doubtful as the insurance is for the engine that's fitted and the premium is matched to that. Just saying.

Search on Google, plenty of places that do Insurance for modified cars. What's the point insuring it under modified car insurance if you're going to (I hope you dont for your own sake) as a 1.2

I think he means insuring it as an XE whilst it still a 1.2 on the logbook?

Brentacre Joe got both my cars insured with them & they mirror your ncb on to your second car to make it a little cheaper.

Worth a try

I found it best to speak with them over the phone, and that it came back cheaper doing so.

the corsa is my second car and limited milage does help out, mine is set at 7500 per year.

also im 25 with 6 years no claims

Who the fuck are you?!
Of course he's declaring It. He meant about the logbook staying as a 1.2 until he gets that swapped. What idiot wouldn't declare a converted nova that's had a lot of work and effort thrown at it?

Don't jump on your high horse you knob when you know fuck all.
Insurance is so high because people can't drive and crash, claim for whiplash etc don't point the finger

@ the first replies! Was pretty obvious he meant he was insuring it as a 2.0 but was asking about changing the logbook, was really no need to reply like that.

As for insurance, ring around everywhere and see which is cheapest and give them quotes to beat.

I tried all the companies mentioned so far here and Admiral actually ended up cheaper, even with the mods declared. Admittedly they're not extensive mods (suspension and exhaust), but was still £200 cheaper than the likes of Flux etc. Would be worth a try
