how do i do it? ive got 7 on now is there a way to install it without starting over?
i want my laptop as is but when i turn it on have the option to boot into xp with nothing but traktor software on it, no internet or wireless or anything, traktor is very processor intense so i want a very clean setup without having to buy a dedicated laptop

Yup - can install on and from a USB if your motherboard supports booting from USB

If you install XP you'll no longer be able to boot into W7, there's a program called EasyBCD which should sort out the boot loader though.

As Andy said, Install XP, you will only be able to boot up into XP, so make sure you download EasyBCD before you install it and can access it from a pen drive or something similar. A couple of clicks and it will sort out a new boot screen for you

I didn't know that, thought you could dual boot as many as you liked.

Find an old laptop or have a look on ebay for a few quid. Traktor isnt as CPU intensive as people think. Best thing is a computer with nothing else on it. I have an Advent laptop from 2007. Its not the most powerfull machine in the world but it runs traktor pro 2 lovely. The drive is partitioned with XP and traktor on C: and my Music on D: I've also tweaked the XP regiestry so that it only runs traktor.

Only once. It's not a faf really, you open a programme, click a button and it does the rest for you lol. The main hurdle I faced was I had to customise the XP install ISO and inject SATA drivers so it could see my hard drive.
