Looking at some canon 450d with a 18-55 lens. Never had a slr but wanting for pictures of the family and f1 this summer. Is this a ok starter camera? Dont want anything flash

saw a 500d at London Camera Exchange in Nottm on saturday.. it was about £350.

I've had the 450D for the past 3/4 years. I've loved it & I'd recommend it.

If you want to shoot F1 you will need a longer lens, something like a 55-250 or 70-300 would compliment the 18-55.

Tamron 70-300 lens you can get for about £100

one on talkphotography.co.uk is £60
