I'm selling my LCR soon, and finding it just as hard to find a decent replacement.

I think you should up your budget if possible.

Can't afford to run it with the miles I'm doing to get work and back, and it needs a cambelt (20k overdue ) a service, a Flexipipe, and as its yellow it's faded to fuck. Apart from that I'll bed sad to see it go

Astra 1.8 convert will be fairly slow.

Coupe is probably the better drive if you're not fussed about having a convertible, plus they're cheaper to insure.

Plenty about and even some of the 1.8s will have a bit of spec - leather, climate, nav if you look hard enough although it's old technology but it would get you out of the shit if you need to be somewhere.

Over budget and might still go up but this is a good car for the money - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270988134688

Not sure if this sold?

Have a look at completed listings - surprised how cheap they are tbh, a lot with cloth and 16s but overlook those, they're no cheaper.

Completed listings

drive it slower! (I know how difficult that is btw).

LCR can do much better mpg if you drive off boost. Just watch the mpg counter and slap yourself everytime you put that foot down.

6h gear at 55-60mph and you'll be doing 60mpg.

I just think £2k won't get you a car good enough to replace it, unless you get a mk5 Fiesta Zetec-s in imperial blue with air-con.

No not at all. It needs a new flexipipe and is drinking fuel, but just haven't got the money to replace it. Needs a service cambelt etc etc and just haven't got the money!
