All comes down to the application.

For 'normal' computer usage your arms are going to kill if you are waving them around.

With the right software that'd be awesome.

could be a bit kinect-ish though, awesome for some ideas, utter wank and unoriginal for others

What's the difference (hardware or otherwise) between this and the Kinect (drivers are available for computers)?

Kinetic maps your whole body and thus takes much more CPU to do it and at the moment is much less accurate.

This maps your fingers VERY accurately, with response times in milliseconds rather than seconds.

That's amazing. More for quick demonstration use than day-to-day usefulness I think, but I'd love to get my hands on one!

Yeah I think for certain applications this could really work well.

Its not a full mouse replacement but its never really meant to be that.

Wasn't the kinect modified to track individual fingers? Obviously not as accurate but given the hardware was already provided...
