Does anyone know what's a reasonable markup on products in a small village store (Londis for example)? Does it vary wildly depending on product or is it roughly the same percentage through out?

30%? 40%? More? Less?

Bit more complex then that TBH.

If you sell loads of something you can suffer a small mark up. But if you don't sell many the mark up needs to be more.

Then you have loss leaders etc etc.

Why do you ask?

Depends a lot more on the product than the store.

I've been wanting to sell to a couple of local shops & not got a clue on how much markup they would want to put on to try and work out how much I could get away with selling to them for. Just been to see one and took a stab at it, not a millon miles off, had to come down in price a bit but it's a start.
