Its worth what someone is willing to pay at the end of the day, if someone pays £12.5k then its worth it to that person.

Big can of worms

But that would cost a serious amount of money to build. I know my bro's mate has spent a fucking fortune on his 440bhp B18. Although it's possible to run not much off of that from a standard K20. Awesome engines!

I personally wouldn't buy it for that price though, i'm looking at 05 Civic Type R's with about 60,000 for less than half that but bog standard.

would cost a lot to build it when you have to pay someone else to do the work.

Depends. Can do it that way and spend megabucks on strengthening the engine, or you could whack on a turbo with a decompression plate and management and run 400bhp that way

Friend was running a 500bhp + ep3, completely standard k20 internally standard compression, with a gt35 hanging off it,
Only died when we tried putting nitrous through it as well lol!

Was his daily before hand.

500 brake on standard engine???!! My pals blew up at 340 so don't get how that works out

I don't know compression of a K20 but I'm guessing its pretty high and not suited for a turbo

It may be high, but that's on the static compression our talking about, because of the cam profiles and the way the vtec can be controlled it can work to an advantage or high comp/big boost,
Get on the k20 forum take a look about a lot of people pushing standard engines that far.
More common in america I noticed while I was over there working.

You could say the same about an xe, I killed one with standard power a rod let go, I then had one with a t34 on it running a bar of boost as far as I know it's still going.
Depends on a lot of things, mapping, spec, past life, what the person drives like etc.

The power claims do have a slight hint of farm yard about them.

Something definitely must have went wrong out of the ordinary then They can take far more than that. Christ, the B16a2 can take 350bhp atw before any work is needed! Over 400bhp on a standard k20 is not uncommon.

"Never Tracked or Dragged – Normal Road Use"

Really?? then why spend the money turbo charging it?

Also claims a stroker kit towards the end, but engine CC remains unchanged at 1998cc..

seem to be popular these bolt on kits,

my mates just gathering parts together for his k24 turbo teg build, k20 head with k24 bottom end, forged and gt40 turbo

will get a wee build thread up once more parts arrive and the cage starts to get built
