Love mine, Its my daily driver. Apart from the odd rattles and squeaks I've had no real issues so far (touch wood!)

Agree that there are alternatives out there but styling wise I prefer the Corsa.

Nope I haven't, wasn't suggesting it was better or worse than your suggestion, just another option. You driven an R56 FJCW?

In what respect is the supercharger superior, genuinely interested. Turbo is way easier to tune, just a remap and you are at 260bhp. The proper R53 Works with the Works only wheels on look nice

I'd prefer the supercharged version... Until a certain point. As soon as you start to modify it a modern turbocharger will wind hands down. You don't get much power from a roots 'charger like the one one a Mini before heat begins to play a major factor. They have really bad adiabatic efficiency.

My brother has had his corsa Vxr nearly 5 years, bought it brand new and looked after it so he's not had these problems that are being mentioned.
It's been 230 bhp for almost 3 years and still no problems.
They're a good car once some mods have been done.
Lovely looking car, much nicer than the Astra. Handles better than them too

Drove one, nearly bought one, was just too average. I do think they're a very nice looking car, just at the time I currently need daily car to be able to tow. When theyre cheaper in a few years I may get one still.

I only know this due to spending shit loads of time thinking of alternative supercharges to my centrifugal one

On topic again, my brother had one from new and it was really quite shocking on fuel. He made the mistake of trying to put a dump valve on it (courtenay sport one so not a generic bov) and it made the car take a hissy fit

Exactly that^

Every car has its faults. But as above, buy a tidy one and maintinence will be a minimum.
Buy a dog, expect problems.

It's not brave, it's common knowledge.

All this 4th piston talk is rubbish. It's the ones that are getting ragged from cold, not cooled down are the ones blowing up. People read a few threads on problems and base they're opinion on that.

Like I said, every car has a 'common fault'
But I refuse to believe that '3 gearboxes in a month' is a common fault. That's abuse.

It's not common knowledge. What happens when people buy new cars and look after them, but they still break?

My Astra was well looked after and had ££££s spent on it and the gearbox still shat itself. Believe it or not some standard parts on cars are just plain shit whether looked after or not.

I couldn't believe the amount of broken Skodas I seen when I was working there and they are No1

Clutch's, gearboxes inc DSG's and suspension components being the main. And these we're driven by very normal people

A lot of it is probably meant to happen, if nothing ever broke then every car maker would be bust in no time.

Well the ramps were full every day and they weren't all getting serviced these were cars mostly in the warrenty periods too.

Engine mount snapped on my old Octavia vRS TDi - 11 days after delivery from the factory, 3000 miles on the clock.

Obviously ragged it too much from cold...

Clio 200. It is a true drivers car, and was built that way from the ground up. I have driven a whole bunch of sports cars over the last year, the clio still brings the biggest smile.

Driven two corsa vxrs in different stages of tuning and I still prefer my mini, power delivery and handling are so much better.
As for the heat with the charger eck is right a decent fmic or meth can reduce the intake temps dramatically though.
I would own one though, in grey with full leather wheel upgrade and lowered the look lovely.
