would anyone be able to give advice on what the best time for me to transfer cash from the UK to australia would be?
just opened up an aussie account and im not too good with all the exchange rate stuff, cheers

Ask your bank what the exchange rate is and what fees are attached to it. They will more than likely have a fixed fee.

i know that the fee is only £8, its the exchange rate im not sure about. like is it likely to just stay the same for a while?

My brother transfers money to my bank account from his Australian account.

He just does a normal "international money transfer". His rates are AUD $24.00 (about £16), and $1 = 62p according to a scan of the details he sent me this morning in fact.

Just check the fees for international transfers from your UK bank.

I used a company called TorFX though that was quite a large sum. They specialise in international money transfers.
