To clear things up i did a photoshop of what it may look like sprayed on..

Conclusion
1. Police would have your pants down.. as not being able to read it, all depends on level of quality spraying and vibrantness
2. Very hard to do, plus you cant put i/c on new car if ever wanted to

Does look weird really. I was just winding up Barnes. Bonnet sticker is the way forward.

That's not legal either, probably get away with it on a pre-1971 car but white letters on black background is no longer legal.

Plus it should be reflective, which it wouldn't be if you painted it on.

Sticker looks fine its function over form and too stop him getting pulled everytime he goes out

It looks a lot better than the big square plate you had fitted. You could have pulled off a shorter sticker for the bumper where the plate was but the problem being is the amount of characters in the original would have made it wrap round the bumper edges and the cops would just bust you for it.
