Currently got an 8" touch screen job but would now prefer something a little more OE ish..

Cant decide between these:
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alp-cda137bti-alpine-cda-137bti.html

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-mvh8300bt.html

The alpine has only been out a week so has little reviews or anything really..
The pioneer has been out a while..and I like the screen

Anything important I should be looking for?

Thanks

Jamie

thanks, confirmed what i was thinking.
The older alpine (bluetooth extra £120) looks perfect in TT and is a good unit but the newer model is far cheaper with BT.

This is the older model one, with dash illumination to red, I think looks spot on. (pics off TTforum)

Sony are shit for everything.
I like my pioneer head unit. It's ten years old but still cuts the mustard

I've got an Alpine 305S in the Puma. Love it.

Looks (and sounds) great day or night:

IMO there's not a huge amount in it.

Alpine probably edge it on the better head units but Pioneer look better IMO.

I have had multiple audio sponsored cars over the year, including JBL, Rockford Fosgate and Fusion, all full audio show installs, always had Alpine headunits

I had the alpine one in my TT also, complimented the dash / lights perfectly. Also if you adjust the mount can still get the TT flap to close.

I ran the USB iPod cable into cubby hole infront of gear stick and left my nano in there all time.

Pioneer, by a mile!

Can't see there being much difference in quality or performance, but the Pioneer looks vastly better and less busy.

I have friends that swear by alpine for headunits speakers etc. Me personally ive always used pioneer and found no problems with that stuff in the past. That alpine head unit posted above is a good one

Pioneer for me. The CD drive on my old one stopped working after a few years (probably doesn't help it's always been in a lowered car and only ever used for CDs) so got another one that's a newer model and it's spot on. They look far better than Alpine stuff and it's good quality.

Don't bother with the BT. I have it in mine and it's do temperamental as its only supported up to iOS4. It worked previously fine but ios5.1 fucked it. May sell mine now!
