General information -
Background
Here we have for sale my Honda Civic Type R, I am selling because I am buying a new car. I have owned this car for just over 3 years and it has never missed a beat. I use this car as a daily drive (unless I am car sharing).
Modifications
My intention was to increase both the car's power, and handling ability... here is a full list of the modifications:
Engine/Power
- Gruppe M (with blue SFS hose)
- RBC Inlet manifold - (with Hondata gasket)
- K100 ECU (launch control @ 4,000rpm / vtec engages @ 5,000rpm / revs to 8,600rpm (9k on dials)).
- DC Sports 4-2-1 Race Header (no CAT)
- Spoon Catback (Spoon B pipe and Spoon N1) - (comes with exhaust bung)
Handling/Suspension
- Spoon Springs (20mm)
- SPC rear camber arms
- Eibach camber bolts (not fitted)
- JDM rear anti-roll bar
- E-tech front strut brace
- Goodridge Braided Hoses (front) (not fitted)
ICE
- Alpine Headunit BTXXXX (Bluetooth and USB).
- Uprated front speakers (JBL)
- Uprated rear speakers (JBL)
- Subwoofer /w built in amp (Pioneer TS-WX210A)(runs off the CD player so no power cables going into the engine bay).
MISC
- Carbon Fibre Bonnet
- JDM wind deflectors
- Spoon socks
- Skunk2 weighted gearknob and leather gaitor
- Earthing kit
- Championship White respray
- Breather filter
I'm sure I've probably missed things so please don't hesitate to contact me!
The car was remapped @ Eurospec2000 (ARtech) by Romain in November 2010 where it made 240.6 bhp and 172 lbs/ft (see below pic for dyno printout).
Bad points
There is a knocking noise coming from both the front and rear of the car to which I've been told it's either the drop links or bushes (this is quite a cheap fix) - this is only noticable when going over speed bumps or a bumpy road.
When I first purchased the car I didn't notice just how bad the paint fade was (it's a common problem for Milano Red)... and as a result I decided go get the car resprayed in Championship White (paint code NH0). In some areas this has started to flake off but will only require a very small touch up to resolve.
I have plenty of documentation with the car and it has full Honda Service History up until 50k - since then all services have been carried out by a friend of mine who works for a local garage (last serviced @ 86k which consisted of: oil,oil filter change, fuel filter change, pollen filter change, air filter clean and spark plugs).
The oil is changed every 6k using Castrol Edge 0w/30 (recommended/purchased by my local Honda dealer).
Brand new OEM clutch fitted @ 92k!
Please see pictures below for what the car looks like:
Exterior:

Make no mistake this car has had thousands spent on it, I will be sad to see it go, but it's time for me to move on and for someone else to enjoy this car as much as I have!
