hi, i have just wrote my car off and am now wondering about how much my insurance will be for my next car.

i had a corsa 1.2 16v (2000) and was on my dads insurance with 5yrs or more no claims - i was paying about 550pounds for the year.

however, seen as mi car is know more i hav to buy a new car. i am thinking of a L reg Sri 1.4 (the insurance is the same as a 1.2!) so i need to know about how much am i going to be paying after claiming for like a 4000 pound car.

any ideas please?

If u haven't already informed the insurance, u could phone them and ask them to cancel the policy. This would mean that you won't get any money from them for your car, but it would keep the no claims.

My mate wrote off 2 BMW 325's in the space of 6 months, he now struggles to cover a N reg 1.4 Escort, no company gave him a quote less than £1K

I smashed up my first car, then got my SXi. Under my mum's name until the end of the years insurance it was £600ish. For the second year it went up to £1100.

Aye, ok if its a cheap car and no 3rd parties involved, but £4K + some dudes wall to pay for = too much out of pocket to be worth keeping the NC - which wont even be in his name......dads policy.
