Hey guys, new to the boards, although i've got a Cav, not a corsa.
Gonna do the diesel pump/boost mod at the w/end, anyone know whether it's the same for the 1.7 ? I know there pretty much the same engine, just wonderin' if anyone knows for sure.
Also, does anyone know what hammering the dimple down and removing the ring from the on boost diaphragm actually does, like allow more on boost fuel or something?
Cheers,
Rich

you from mig by any chance?
yep its the same principal exactly for the 1.7, infact im going to put a 1.7 in my corsa very soon.
you need to remove the ring or it wont make any difference as its the resrictor. as for the dimple, i hammered it, all i can think is that it allows the diaphram to move another couple of mm up.

i just been looking at performance figures for the 1.7TD, very tasty! would the same performance be gained by simply having the 1.5 bored out to the 1.7 spec or would it require an engine transplant? whats easier/cheapest?
cheers again

engine transplant, the 1.7 has an intercooler, bigger injectors, different fuel pump, different cam, bogger big end bolts, etc...
im doing a 1.7 transplant. not as easy as you might think but i know how to do it. dad spent 25 years doing this as a job.

The 2.2 Tid from the Saab 9-3 would fit in nicely too (more or less just drop in) Probs not fir in a corsa though But it'd be gettin' silly then.
