Looking at todays autoexpress they have pictures and info on Irmscher Meriva with new 1.6 turbo lump, which they are going to use in the Corsa Gsi/OPC and they say it will be tuned to 180BHP now to compete with 206GTI 180 etc, top stuff, wonder if they could be persauded to get an extra 20bhp just to round things up a bit

Err no! first they said it would be 170bhp then they said it would be 160 cos of emissions theyve only just released the fact that it maybe 180bhp, O.K!

14k eh!!

I was going to get the Astra GSi but may now wait for the Corsa GSi if it actually has 180 BHP. Although thats only 20 BHP less than the 2Ltr Astra. Can I 1.6 do 180 bhp or do you think they might keep it to something like 150 bhp to keep closer to the Fiesta ST150. It's not even a 206 class car as the astra is the competitor in that range so that throws that theory out of the window.

I'll be the first to get one and whats more I'll use my parters discount and GM card points towards it which will bring it down to about 12k.

206 is the same class as a corsa. 307 same class as an astra. 106 is in a class of its own

Opel managed to push 200bhp out of this new engine in a slightly different spec. The engine is bulletproof apparently. If so, i reckon it could easily see the good side of 250bhp. Even with 180bhp, this thing will fly. It will anihalate that stupid 206 GTi180. Cant wait till its out. I want one.
