What is best used on bare steel to protect it from rusting?Having the front chassis welded up and strengthend tomorrow so need to know what i should be putting on the steel plates and welds to stop it from rusting.

etch prime then use a proper primer on top of that then id go stonechip on top of the primer and then whatever paint on top of that probably hammerite brush on seeing as its on the chassis.

I just brushed a load of Hammerite on when mine was strengthened 3 years later still looks same and still shiny paint

This stuff do the trick then apply stone chip on top once dry?

Yh you could do or apply Hammerite on top I just slapped Hammerite straight on job done

I have bought and used that stuff in the link above just put one coat for now until the weekend until i can get another coat on then will apply some stonechip on top.
