One of my brake pipes is badly corroded and I lost my brakes suddenly. Got a bit of copper brake pipe here but don't have a flaring tool. Is there any way of doing a diy job without the tool?

Yes, assuming you can get it the same shape. You'll end up just replicating a proper tool though.

Can't you take the pipe and fittings to garage and ask them the flare the ends. It's not worth fucking about with brakes.

Flaring kit is only £15ish from a motor factors and its a doddle to do.
Why anyone would try to bodge something like a brake line is beyond me

Fair enough , its just where I live the nearest motor factors or mechanic is about 20 miles away and my car is obviously not roadworthy atm.
