did just the top of Dan's and both sides of Ash's (he wanted both doing), no masking other than on the breather pipe bits on top, told then to give it a good wash out after to be absolutely sure
and it was grit blasting I did, not shot

It's dipped in a alkaline of some description, I initially wanted some Porsche parts doing for a resto were doing but he said he could only do alloy metals.
I masked it up before powder coating as they coated the inside last time which I obviously didnt want to happen again!
As for blasting I appreciate that care can be taken when doing it but considering the possible chance of media getting stuck in the alloy or any other areas and potentially then wrecking your engine I know which option I would go for.

What is the cleaning method after having them dipped so powdercoat/paint doesn't react?

They clean them off at the factory so I just leave the powder coaters to sort the rest.
If it was to be painted it would just want a scotch over

Unsure of their name, they are based near Finedon in Northampton. They do a lot of restorations and a local firm to me use them so I send parts over with them otherwise its a 2hr round trip for me from here.

The powder coating is done by another local firm, they are Normally excellent but did cock up the cam cover but I should of masked it up or bolted it to something.

Powder coated the inside of it, they did say it's oil and heat resistant but I wasn't taking any chances on a expensive engine build.
Still not sure why the inside was done as they have done plenty in the past without a issue but I just mask them up now to be sure.
