Jesmond is one of the most sought after locations in the NE, your talking 100K+ for a one bed flat for christ sake. Certainly not a dump.

Dont know what Jesmond you've been too mate but the one in Newcastle is nowt like what you've described
Personally I would like a place on the Quayside but stupid money, Gosforth is nice as well.

I used to live in Durham... It nice, but I moved to Cramlington a couple of years ago and it is well nice, I work in IT too and the money is Okay up here, web site design is certainly picking up!
The house prices in Cramlington are on their way up like but it's worth a look round!
It's handy for Newcastle if your looking for a job there and handy for Northumberland's countryside if you want a day out! (If you can cope with the speed cameras!)
