Why do cyclists think they have the right to cause criminal damage to your car if you upset them?

Last year was a passenge in a friends 996 C4S and overtook 3 of them in a city centre. they seemingly took a dislike to the roar of the 911 as it went past and just the car in general.

we stopped at the lights and one cyclist pulled up one each side thinking they were on motorcycles in a mad max film. One started giving my friend verbal, so he gave it back. The cyclist then put both hands on his mirror and tried to rip it off but failed.

Next thing my friend and I both lose our tempers with these twats and 2 juicers having roidz attacks steam out of the car. All of a sudden the cyclists act all placated and decide to cycle off. We realise we have a huge audience so get back in the car and on our way.

I can understand the verbal exchange but for them to suddenly try and rip the wing mirror off, WTF?? and they all seem to do it.
