It's just the type of memory the motherboard uses.

id recommend www.ebuyer.com too, cheapest ive seen for a while. Id make sure (if you get an athlon) that its runnin on the 333mhz FSB then if will be easier to upgrade the processor in the future, and it will be quicker. I built my own copmuters and saved some money, but its a bastard when things go wrong! good luck m8 oh and www.coolcasemods.com has loads of cool modding stuff if you are interested.

i have a athlon 1800XP+
with 256 corsair XMS2700 266mhz?? cant remember.
but i made sure i got hi qual parts
like corsair ram. enermax pcu, etc..
everything within the pc unit inc case cost about 650 £
it will be cheaper to buy from tescos or whatever and get a higher spec, but ur not gonna get quality parts.. most likely the cheap crap.

quote: amd athlon xp2000+
256 ram
64mb Geforce 2 card
60 gig HD
samsung dvd rom
samsung cd writer
no bad, think i paid round bout the 700 mark 4 all my shite but its all top bollocks stuff
Oh dear Daniel J, looks like you got a bit of a shit deal.
a CPU thats actually running what is it 1600 Mhz? (the 2000+ is just a name not its actual clock speed), only 256 ram... which isn't much these days - I'd suggest if Icy wants to do photoshopping ram + cpu power is what he'll be needing most of... get some nice DDR.
You also have a ancient gfx card ... (geforce 2) ... the geforce 5 is now out. 60gb hard drive has a retail value of about £60 now... whoever told you they were selling you 'top bollox stuff' was pulling your leg mate. Unless you paid £700 3 years ago you got ripped off.
