Seen these have a gasket but they look like rubber, just wanting to try and take mine off but was wondering if i could use the same gasket again, obviously if its intact and looks ok or not? cheers

Every egr gasket I've seen is a thin piece of metal, if your not sure just put a little instant gasket or RTV sealant before re-fitting.
I've always re-used them if they look ok without any probs

Never heard an egr cause that, but a quick remove and clean will tell you if it's that or not,
Could always blank it off.

Can you blank them off on a 1.2 as read about and some people seem to say you cant as it part of the coolant system? :/

I've never heard of an egr valve being part of a Coolant system, but then I've never worked on a 1.2 16v
