Bet Tom is so glad he made this thread now.
Don't get me wrong, it's a cool as fuck car and I bet the guys buzzin! Just reminds me of old cases I dealt with where people with old 944's worth a grand get brand new gt2's, and a guy with a really old jag xj got a brand new xj-r

No politics here, just education and insight into areas that members have knowledge and experience of. Its up to you if you skim over the comments or read them. #
There is no doubt that the car is Epic btw.

Now that would feel like a proper kick in the teeth.

Guy at my work has a 12 plate A Class as courtesy car at the moment, that cost £65 a day to rent. He's had it three weeks now (£1,365) all for a £700 Peugeot 206 he had that was written off. He's accepted £700 back for it, and it still isn't settled. Insurance are mad!
Also know a lad at local tyre shop who had 4 courtesy cars over a 9 month period. All for a £2,000 car cause insurance were arguing over who was at fault. He reckoned he had over £15k in courtesy car costs.

A mate of mine had a mk5 Golf GTD for months when someone wrote his old 1.2 Clio off, hire charges must've been more than the car was worth in that case too.
Best hire car I've been party to was a delivery mileage RS6, although that was because of warranty work, not insurance.

Nice car but I'm finding it difficult not to moan about insurance premiums.

Hurry up with mine then son
The other thing that MIGHT have happened is they had nothing else available... happen to me in Majorca once, paid for the shittest smallest car with AC, Twingo or variant, got the the airport, told me they had none left due to a coach driver strike so upgraded me, free of charge, to a bloody great Kia Sedonda!

LeeM talks sense in here.
The credit hire agreement will ultimately be enforceable against him if the at fault insurer doesn't pay up. There'll be a clause in the terms and conditions that the full amount has to be paid upon conclusion of the case and/or a set amount of weeks whatever is soonest.
