The RRS is still up for sale, and we're still undecided on what to replace it with.
Anyone done a lot of miles in one, or fixed one? I've driven one and liked it, a fair bit more grunt than the RRS too and supposedly better on diesel.
Do they fall to bits or any well known issues?

Driven a few hundred miles and as a passenger in a mpsort 40d. Very nice car, good on fuel and powerfull when needed. 1000% improvement on the old x5 and x5 msport.
The only issue i can see (not that its a bad headache to endure) is there's to many options to choose from. You could add 15-20k ontop of the car by 'speccing' it up so trying to find the 'ideal' spec maybe a difficult one if purchasing a used car.

Have you considered a Q7 or Porsche cayenne?
Never been impressed with the x5 (newer one looks nice though) but out them all think the range rover sport is nicer even if abit problematic at times

Friends mum has just bought a new q7, such a nice motor!! 3.0 tide s-line. Special edition with all the bells and whistles. Refreshing change from an x5 looks rather pimp!
Range rover sports always seemed really cramped inside to me in the footwells.

We test driven and test towed with a Q7 S-Line. Better than the 2.7 TDV6 RRS but I've just gone off their looks recently :S Too long!
I like Caynenes but Fee doesnt. BUT she soes like Touregs (higher up models)
So....
The options, in order of desireabiliy (at the moment)
X5 M Sport
RRS HSE/HST TDV8 or SDV6
Toureg Altitude 245 or R50 V10
Q7 S Line
Cayenne Diesel

V10 Toureg. One pulled up in a petrol station next to me pulling the biggest trailer I've ever seen. Sure he said it was about 5T and said it wasn't even noticeable in respect of how easily the car pulled that amount of weight

Toureg. The biggest engine TDI. You can pull planets with it.

yup.... but its a hell of a waste of fuel
Dont get me wrong, I'd love it... but when it means simply spending £100 more on a journey it becomes an issue
Every round of TA uses about £300 worth of diesel or more, and about £200 of V Power. Adding £100 to that makes a difference!
A V10 would munch the fuel!
Antee - What can it pull legally? I.e the X5 is plated to 3.5T, like the Q7 and RRS.
