Did the paper clip test and the code that comes up is 12 what does this mean. The car cuts out and then won't start can anyone help me please

What engine is it?

When I do the test on my x20xev 12 is the code which tells you the test has begun. Its not actually a fault code. Mite be different for yours, that link should tell you.

Will flash the code 12 3 times to let you know its starting code reading, then 12 3 times to let you know its finished searching for codes.
Not everything has sensors, so you may have to start with the basics to figure out whats wrong.
Id advise checking for fuel and a spark and take it from there

Nope no codes at. I asked my work they said it could be the igniter on the coil
